We didn't enter this industry. We helped build it.

In 2000, our founders were building Mighty Leaf Tea. There was only one manufacturing partner in the world who could support their vision: SITI, Societe Imperiale Des Thes & Infusions .

At the time, SITI's standard product was a cotton tea bag. Mighty Leaf founders, Gary Shinner & Jill Portman, wanted something that didn't exist yet —  a transparent, whole-leaf bag people could see into. SITI stretched to build it.

The result was the industry's first hand-stitched silk tea bag — and it became the catalyst for the pyramid-style sachet now standard across the entire category.
